My cat, Finn, loved to lay on the back of the couch in the sun. I wanted to paint him with his eyes open, but early on in the project, I realized that his closed eyes communicated a sense of bliss and enjoyment while lounging in the warmth. It was fun to experiment with different strokes in painting "Bliss", using familiar paper and familiar brands of pastels.
