Water's Ways

This is a mystical place I saw in a dream. Depicts water rushing in from a waterfall , then onto a tranquil lake. On its way, the water passes over shiny rocks and pebbles, and encounters gently swaying cattails. Then the water arrives at a curious quiet place, still frequented by humans. The old stone building has wooden door that's slightly ajar, letting us see the blinding yellow light from inside that casts a shimmering reflection on the quiet water .
My goal was to express the sound of the water: from surging and splashing to suddenly quiet . I use Carbothello pastel pencils on Winsor & Newton paper
