Portrait of my grandmother, Gigi (pronounced with a hard g) . Growing up I was fascinated by my sweet grandmother’s eyes. Because of a disease when she was younger, she wore thick glasses with magnifying lenses. They seemed huge to me as a child. I felt a deep connection to her while painting. She always called me Cricket. I just had to put one in there!
