Toward the Light

Another nature piece to continue my understanding of my pastels and my surroundings. I came across this moment on a recent hike and I loved all the shadows stretching forward—I especially loved the shadows curving over the rock. Since I’m still in my color exploration phase I decided again to go with extra saturated colors, and I tried to get as many colors as I could into the piece. There are some spots in the piece I don’t like very much, but in an effort to be okay with imperfection I decided to call it a day on this piece and release it into the world.
