ANCIENT MOATS
This painting from my Ancient Architecture series is called Ancient Moats.
When we were in Zion National Park, much of the day had a slight overcast tone to it, but when we rounded this corner, the light slipped through two mountain peaks all the way down to the Virgin River, that runs through the valley.
The drama and visual excitement could not have been staged any better. In the shadows, the red rocks brought a bit of glow to the otherwise deep, dark foliage.
