Red Cliffs, Ardrossan

This pastel was painted on pastel board I prepared with Terracotta art spectrum pastel primer. I made the board from Plywood and sealed with wood sealant first then sanded. The boards give the pastel a beautiful texture very suitable for this subject matter of the rocks. I wanted to capture the intense glow of the red rock cliff surface.
