Sign Of The Times
This piece was inspired by a combination of events this summer. A recent trip to our local Raptor Center to see a an owl flying show and the smokey atmosphere of our forest fires in Canada.
I started with an acrylic underpainting on Stonehenge HP Watercolor paper and built up layers with soft pastels for the rest. I tried to portray the owls movement in flight by keeping it soft and the smoke at sunset with the background marks. I love texture this paper creates with soft pastels.
