Osprey Mom and Baby - Waiting for Lunch

I watched these birds on their nest all summer, photographing them at various intervals throughout the season. Juvenile osprey have amber eyes while adult birds have golden eyes. One of the photos I took showed this detail so clearly that I had to paint it! I started the painting by building the nest, and finished it with the addition of the other parent (not actually photographed) bringing lunch.
